Race from 100 to 250k

After stalking around the forum for a few years I finally decided to Join this thread! 33yo and my DH is 38yo

Starting out at --->

I just paid 30,000 for a new Van (our only car now) in cash so it would be $155,500. The car is worth slightly less than what we paid 6 months later $29,000, shall I include it here or just keep plugging away not including it? I am leaning toward not including it since we never plan to sell it. We buy new cars but drive them for 15-20 years.

I should be getting $1,000 distribution from a from a private equity hotel investment. That will be in 2 weeks so that will bump me up a tad. Other than that we have two kids under 2 and just bought a nice house (I know not very mustashian) so our savings has slowed a bit but I should be getting some credit card bonus and bank account sign up bonus to add to the stash. Trying to do better at spending less on food, going out to eat (that is our big killer). Trying to be more aggressive my with investments, I am 50 percent cash right now earning nothing! so hard in a market that is feeling at the end of it's time riding high.

$112k today.  My house is going up for sale so that number is bound to fluctuate depending on what's offered.  It is a complete seller's market in this area however; there is literally nothing for sale within $50k of what I'm asking; anything that goes up is sold usually within a week or two.  Kind of excited!

Finally made it into this thread! I'm amazed at how much some of you guys are able to put away each month. Is it high income, dual income, market return. Either way I'm jealous. Well here is my starting point, with no home equity.

It's getting there. I also track net worth outside my house (it includes money from 60 onwards) and I thought that would pass 500k but it hasn't although it's only a couple of grand short. Hopefully the next update will be above 200k.

Work has been excessively easy which is good. The only problem is that I've been working predominantly from home but I have new project (same job) where I have to turn up 4 days a week. Ideally I get a project to manage that ends up managing itself and I only work 10-20 hours a week for another 3-4 years until retirement. Unfortunately that isn't going to happen although I will keep pushing for that. It's interesting in that I was questioned why only 4 days a week last week and here is the kicker I reckon I only have 1 days a week work.

Pretty big jump this month since my pension went from 0% vested to 100% vested so I started counting it and it was a 3 paycheck month for Hubs. For my pension, I'm only counting the amount I could get if I quit today and cashed out today which I estimate using the Fidelity online calculator (~7.4K). I'm going to stay in this thread until our investments reach 250K since that is what we will apply the 4% rule to.  The rest of our NW is just equity and our emergency fund which aren't really part of our 'stash.

Vacation to Las Vegas wasn't cheap :D. It's been a couple of years since we took a big vacation, so we decided to this year. Investments are up, though (60,750 -> 62,450). It was made about $500 worse NW wise because I stopped counting some side-investments since they were converted into something else that, while liquid, won't be sold. Overall, we're on pace to be around 103k by the end of the month :).

Looking back at Mint data, I realized it took me four years to get from $0 to $100k, but I'm on track to close the gap between $100 and $250k in about two and a half years. Compounding feels good.
