Finally made it!! Just paid off the last of the credit cards which is a fantastic feeling. I do have 16500 left on my car but driving 20k miles a year so just tracking cash and not net worth.

3/1/18 - $12,000

Good progress everyone! I like to see a lot of people in the 10k-20k range as it's very relatable and we tend to make smaller jumps than the people that are closer to graduation (though this month it was a bigger drop I guess :p)

The median change from the spreadsheet for the month of February is 7.52%, so quite good regarding the stock downturn, congrats to all.

I haven't really been updating consistently, but I'm getting super close.  Mint says 97,457.  I have been slacking a little on getting new clients for my business, so this month probably wont happen, but I've got new ones lined up already, so fingers crossed on graduating next month!

First MMM Forum Post! Found MMM in late December 2017. Made immediate changes. Been reading the forum for awhile now...

Investments + 403b/401k:

12/2017: $38,165 (previously sitting and earning a measly 1.35% in savings) (Before investing/pre-MMM)
01/2018: $39,072
02/2018: $47,432
03/2018: $53,824 (as of 3/12)

My spreadsheet indicates that I will reach $100k by 1/1/2019

Long time lurker, first time poster! I love following these races, it's very inspiring.

I track quarterly, so January liquid-y goodness is at £41,916 with a total net worth of £348,747.

Is it OK to join two races!?  :)

Why, thank you. Most of it is tied up in property though so trying to increase investments. You too will have a stash of cash higher than Jack's beanstalk :)

Thanks. My net worth was like a rocket ship for 3months between end of year bonuses, a signing bonus from a new job, the federal tax refund, state tax refund and the fact I have a guaranteed return on investment in the form of paying down a huge student loan.

Usually you can just post it here. The sheets file is quite new so if you want you can also add it there to get the fancy calculations for our cohort like Repman has made them.

Alright then I'm in!
One day I'll meet the first ones in the graduate page.

"Starting" NW in USD: 17,538 $

I hope to make some nice gains even though I still study and life isn't very stable. Last fall I moved to Germany and gonna come to US for a semester in August. In addition to working I am able to leverage 1) scholarships and 2) lower cost of living for students.

Hi everyone! First post in this thread and I’m kind of amazed I’m even here. 100k seems so daunting. I have no idea what my goal timeline should look like to reach 100k NW. My NW seems to be climbing at about 2.5k per month on a 70k salary. At that rate, I’m looking at 40 months (3.34 years) but I feel like compounding should help significantly with that once I start to get some momentum going. So I’ll aim for 100k in 24 months as a stretch goal!

You're on a really similar pace with me! I started with around -$29k in Aug 2016, now I'm at positive $14k. I try to aim for $2.5k/month as well. Salary is a little lower, $60k (should be getting a small raise soon), but I'm in a LCOL area which helps a lot. You'll probably surpass me though. Especially if I have to buy a car, which I expect could be any day now. I haven't been including my car in my net worth (which is probably worth less than $1500 as is).

Congrats on paying off the loans and graduating the 10k thread! I also save around 2.5k per month, so we should graduate from this thread at roughly the same time. Keep it up!

Just graduated from the previous thread! Like a few others on here our NW seems to climb around 2-2.5k per month, so it'll be nice to have others in a similar situation. We don't own our primary residence and are only using the equity from our rental property and our liquid investments for our NW calculations.

Welcome everyone--I am pretty new here as well, just been making progress since December when I snapped out of my spending coma.
It's encouraging to have a bunch of us with a similar savings rate..I have been working extra so might not have this savings rate all year but would love to see where I can land by the end of 2018.

Dec 18/17     18,146
Jan 03/18     20,624
Jan 19/18     23,607
Feb 06/18     25,073
Feb 20/18     27,000
Mar 16/18     28,600

(*need to stop saving in my accounts and focus on stashing extra for taxes since I made more than expected last year.  Will owe more than I have paid in installments--so far have a baby stash of $1500 for this and feel like I need to get up to at least $3000 to cover my bases-eegads)

Hello! I am new to MMM. I'm 28, recently married, and we maintain separate finances. The goal is to be in a strong financial position to maintain flexibility in the future, not necessarily RE. I have a job that I love with amazing benefits, so I am not in a hurry to retire. But as you all know, that could always change.

I have always lived below my means in that I have never held any debt, but I've never really saved. I was a grad student living on a lean stipend in a HCOL city until a year and a half ago. I'm still in the same HCOL city, but now I have a real salary, a defined contribution retirement plan, and access to 403b and 457 accounts.

Current net worth: $48,533.91
Breakdown below...
Cash: $17,747.04
Retirement plan: $18,702.39
403b: $679.16 (Just opened this 1/1/18)
Roth IRA: $11,736.04 (Did not open this until 2016 tax year)
Credit card: -$330.72 (Use this for normal expenses, pay off in full every month)

I was over $50k a week ago, but of course the stock market is going down at the moment. Shares on sale!

Oct 2017 EUR 13400,-
Nov 2017 EUR 13900,- (+500)
Dec 2017 EUR 14300,- (+400)
Jan 2018 EUR 16000,- (+1700)
Feb 2018 EUR 17050,- (+1050)

Bad month due to market dip + a €400 holiday to Italy.

Edited; I just realized I forgot a 1000 that I have invested elsewhere. So that's actually an AMAZING month, not even close to bad. I don't even understand how that's possible.

Oct 2017 EUR 13400,-
Nov 2017 EUR 13900,- (+500)
Dec 2017 EUR 14300,- (+400)
Jan 2018 EUR 16000,- (+1700)
Feb 2018 EUR 17050,- (+1050)
Mar 2018 EUR 17300,- (+250)

Mehh due to lots of one-off expenses and my stocks are down. Still a little + though.
