September 15 is one year from when I started working out of college, and it took me that long to buy a house and get my net worth high enough to make up for my student loans, so for the year before that it's all over the place, and for everything before that it's just paycheck to paycheck/tuition payment to tuition payment so nothing notable.  Looking at this it's going faster than I realized it was.  Average is about 4k a month to savings, but it will slow down since I don't get any side income or bonuses during the summer.  Should end up saving about 35k this year.  I'm sort of thinking about if there is anything I could do for extra money in the weekend/evenings during summer, which would help to up it.  Might just focus on doing some writing and hope that pays off eventually, and work on spending less, of course..

Sep-15   $6,657.20
Oct-15   $10,846.07
Nov-15   $13,419.84
Dec-15   $19,983.09
Jan-16   $23,828.58
Feb-16   $27,482.23
Mar-16   $33,831.34
Apr-16   $38,873.65

$40,061 - Dec 2015
$43,153 - Jan 2016
$47,634 - Feb 2016
$50,404 - Mar 2016
$53,733 - Apr 2016

Had some issues with my pay, and some unexpected expenses.  Still managed to save though, which can only mean I'm on the right track.

1st post! My stretch goal is 125K by the end of the year if I get lucky with the market. I will be about 23.5 years old (sidenote: I can't believe I'm turning 23). More realistically I will probably hit 105k-110k barring any illnesses/family issues/injuries etc.

Me: Single male, 22 years old, NYC
Started at -12k in student debt when i graduated in 2015. During college, I paid down ~8k from earnings in college/internships.

Current stats:
Cash on hand: 20k. 15k is in the savings account to maintain the credit card. I have an additional 5k for instant liquidity (rent, paying the monthly credit card balance) without disrupting my long-term investment positions and getting slapped the 35% capital gains tax.
ETF: 10k
Cash for Investments (dry powder): 37k
401k: 5.5k - the match doesn't activate until I've stayed with the firm for 2-3 years so I'm ignoring the additional +5.5k match.
Traditional IRA: 5.5k as soon as I cash in the tax refund. It's sitting at home with my parents.

Total: 78K
Year-End Goal: 125K
62% there!

Good Lord, I wish I'd been in your position when I was your age! Wait until you can't believe you're turning 33... I'll be 34 this year and I'm on track to hit $80K NW by the end of the year.

I'm going to try to track my NW monthly this year to chart my progress. Starting 2016, I had a NW of $50,000. I'm hoping to grow it to over $75K.
Once I get to $100K, I think I will give myself permission to move into my own apartment, as I've spent the last 8 years living with the same roommate--saving a ton of money, but not getting as much privacy as I'd like.

Jan 2016 - $50,000
April 2016 -$57,000
May 2016 - $60,000
June 2016 - $63,000
July 2016 - $69,000 (profit sharing, plus market doing better - so glad I front loaded this year!)
Aug 2016 - $72,000
Sept 2016 - $74,000 (markets down, same deposits though)
Oct 2016 - $74,000 (uggghhh...)
Nov 2016 - $78,000 :D
Dec 2016 - $84,000 (Wooooo! Dale tu cuerpo a alregria, Macarena...!)

Me too I'm racing towards 100k, but I didn't initially posted since I was already at more than 10k when I started reading MMM (January 2014). Anyway I've decided to put down my progression to both keep track and analyze what I did.
I am in full mustachian mode since august 2014 (biking everywhere, homemade lunch, no shopping for materialistic shit, and so on).

My total assets in middle september 2012, when I finished my master (I'm now 29, working and living in Switzerland) and started working as a researcher at my university, was 11k chf:
1k swiss franc in a cash account
10k gold bullion inherited by my grandfather, never known him, it's actually the only thing I have left of him.

After ~28 months I've now a total of 66k swiss francs (switch job in between, started working in industry for a small bump in pay):
16k company pension plan
15k retirement account
10k bullion (I struggle to sell it, there is my fucking name engraved in it! from my grandpa!)
25k taxable account investment

I'm very happy for the moment (+55k in 28 months, ~2k/month in switzerland is very difficult), but is amazing to see that my total at the end of 2014 was 35k, and I did manage to save 31k only in the last 12 months.....

By end of 2015 I should reach 100k, also +89k in 40 months. It's amazing only to think about it :)

So I didn't post my progression for like 1.5 years :D cool to be looking back of what I thought was possible. Back then (january 2015) I already knew I was going to be a father, but woah what a change. I love my little baby daughter, but with my wife going back to 50 % part time job I had to provide more to our joint account.
Right now I'm at 91k, so I'm really near and I think I'll be there in September :) 9 months later then expected, but so many changes and my new job in august will provide another huge bump in pay that will speed things along nicely.

so middle september 2012 (11k) to end september 2016. 4 years (switzerland, avg salary after taxes 60k). And this without counting the emergency fund of ~8k which will put me theoretically at 99k :DDD

Been meaning to add my numbers, but still have to figure out a couple numbers.

Namely, what value should I give to a pension (teacher's pension)? I'm sure there is a how to around here somewhere, just haven't come across it.

Would that be the same as "if you were to "sell" it today, it would be worth this much" value?

It's Net Present Value. Taking the future monthly income and turning it into a lump sum now by undoing inflation and market gains over that time period.

First off I just want to say great job to all of us guys and girls that are working very hard on this goal.  I know I'm very proud of me and I'm proud of you all too. Love seeing all the numbers go up no matter how little or how much it does.
I'm 62% of the way there and looking forward to graduating to the next level.

I discovered MMM only a few weeks ago and it's like my world has opened up. I know I don't make a lot-I live comfortably but I can't imagine saving at the rates I'm seeing some of you save monthly.

Starting with April NW:  $38,442.00 This is going to plummet in september as I start an 18 month grad program that I'm paying for out of pocket + any grants/scholarships/tuition reimbursement I can get my hands on.

EOY 2015: €16,728
Jan 2016: €15,895
Feb 2016: €17,250
Mar 2016: €19,597
Apr 2016: €20,332

Did not save as much as I wanted, but it is going in the right direction. Less happy about having to change the ETFs I use in my portfolio.

I can see the finish line... if only I didn't have ~$9k of tuition to be paid this year. We'd hit $100k in September probably. At this point I estimate we'll hit it in November.

January 2015: CHF 49,805
...
November 2015: CHF 66,524
December 2015: CHF 67,473
January 2016: CHF 78,098
February 2016: CHF 81,995
March 2016: CHF 78,422
April 2016: CHF 84,996

I should get to 100k invested also around November.
In summer, I will renew around half of my mortgage (200k out of 480k).
-> Old interest rate: 1.75% and the new interest will be around a tenth of that. Thus, around 0.18%... will boost my savings a bit :)

I shook the couch cushions, and it turns out I just barely - by $25.57 - topped 100k at the end of March. See you all in the nextthread!

Welcome to the newcomers and congrats to those moving on! I had a pretty good month considering I spent a chunk on new equipment for an upcoming backpacking trip. My goal is to be over 100k by September, but I think I may cross the 100k mark shortly when I recalculate my pension worth. I conservatively measure it but think I've been undervaluing the monthly increases and will recalculate when I receive my annual statement.

My update is as follows:

1/1/2016   $70,395.59
2/1/2016   $74,587.69
3/1/2016   $77,683.18
4/1/2016   $81,670.69
5/1/2016 $85,587.91

The last time I checked in here my net worth was $20000 and some change now it is $22604!!!  My debt is going down slowly but surely.  It stands at 6062 I remember when it was over $11000.

Since this is a holiday weekend, I don't expect any change with the markets closed so I'll post my numbers now.
Just over 20K in 11 months...not great by people on here but I've been slowing digging myself out of debt. Last CC will be paid off in June and then all that money will roll over to savings/investing and then it will grow faster.
And not much growth this month as we had some house improvement projects going on-built a fence and new concrete patio slab.

06/30/15   $43,137.96
07/31/15   $44,941.13
08/31/15   $42,043.10
09/30/15   $38,770.91
10/31/15   $44,941.34
11/30/15   $46,401.01
12/31/15   $47,513.96
01/31/16   $44,058.68
02/29/16   $46,830.84
03/31/16   $58,923.60
04/30/16   $62,829.27
05/31/16   $63,588.38

Sep-15   $6,657.20
Oct-15   $10,846.07
Nov-15   $13,419.84
Dec-15   $19,983.09
Jan-16   $23,828.58
Feb-16   $27,482.23
Mar-16   $33,831.34
Apr-16   $38,873.65

May-16    $37,450.56

Misleading because I had to pay 3500 upfront for some classes my work will reimburse for, but not until September.  For now it is what it is.  I very briefly had over 40k this month though, so that was cool (looking at the bright side).

First I compared last month to this month:

4/30/16: $14,500
5/31/16: $15,350

Which doesn't seem like much, and could have been better because reasons, but then I went back through the spreadsheet and realized it's been two years since this started:

5/31/14: -$20,950
5/31/16: $15,350

Which is $36,300 in two years. And next year I hope things will go a little faster. I could be to 100K in four years, which considering I was just about zero this time last year, would be $0 to $100,000 in five years!

Newer people, if you haven't already, come join the tracking spreadsheet! It's getting a little lonely as people graduate and it's a great way to see progress!

Just checking back in. My NW went down (By ~175ish). Boo. (Had some large expenses-one that won't happen for hopefully a few more years and another that is the beginning of the downtrend of NW with grad school). On the plus side, I got a small (4%) raise that is going directly into my 403b upping my retirement savings to over 11%.

April-16 NW:  $38,442.00
May-16 NW:   $38,264.52

Decided to jump in the group if you all don't mind. I just merged all my stuff into "One Sheet to rule them all v3" so my data is a bit limited right now.

5/1/2016   $47,415.17
