December saw a nice increase in my passive income (PI). The majority of this is from a fund that pays out an annual dividend every December. In 2018, my PI increased by slightly more then $1000. That's an extra $1000 my investments are gonna pay me every year for the rest of my life 😁.
Looking forward, in 2019 my goal is to increase my PI by $1500, for a yearly total of 5k. My main focus lately has been to not sit on too much cash and get my money in the market working as soon as possible. My quarterly dividends all ended up with a payout in January so hopefully I will see another nice increase this month.
We're at ~$8,700 now.
$9,400 now
And 2018 comes in at $10,681!
Congrats RWD, our first grad 🎓. If there is no other threads above this one then feel free to update us in the future.
Good challenge, but it will be a very long term goal for us. The only income we have that I count as truely passive is bank account interest, sales of stockphotos, and dividends from single stocks.
Total for 2018: $525.5
Welcome gala,
Looks like you are at a great starting point to complete this race. As dividends start to re-invest, compounding will slowly start to help you along.
