No clothes shopping - January - 2017!

I'm going to continue on my third month of trying this.  There will likely be some nursing clothes purchased, but I am going to do my best to find really good deals, used clothing, freebies, or upcycles of my current things first.

So I've made it.  The recipe for me:  unsubscribe from all marketing e-mails, install an add blocker on all my devices, toss catalogs that I get in the mail without looking at them and NO recreational/window shopping.

Will continue in February and hopefully March as well.

I'm so in for February! I've mainly done the wardrobe reset now, so I don't think I need any more clothing that can't be begged/borrowed/sewn.

We are doing Frugal February! We even announced in on FB hah!
We have cut everything in the budget that is not necessary. Will be a little bit of hardship, no icecream, no crisps. :( no coffee! not even in the house.
Def includes no clothes.

So I started a new thread, I had already done it when someone mentioned to just change the title of this one.  So I'm going to go ahead and migrate over to the February thread.  Here's the link:

I sort of like the idea of keeping a new month and a clean slate.  I am still going for the whole year, but doing it one month at a time.  Who's with us?

Apart from buying the fabric for my daughter's skirt (I made two and have enough fabric for more) I stood firm.

I won't be in for February (likely to buy a few maternity pieces) but will be following that thread so I can continue being impressed by all of you awesome people :-)

January was good.Nothing for me. Nothing for my husband. Nothing for the kids even. Even more amazing was that I didn't step foot into Ulta ( which has nothing that I NEED) and I even stayed out of CVS where I typically buy super cheap shampoo and stuff that I also don't need because I have so much of it. It frees up my time, space and money not chasing the CVS deals.

I did get two new swimsuits for training, which I consider sports equipment, not clothing. Otherwise no clothing purchases for me or anyone in the household.

I'm so glad to hear this because I desperately need a new swimsuit for lap swimming (my last one became so worn it would be immodest to wear it!) but have been debating whether this is OK or not given my general ban on clothes spending.  Gonna call it sports equipment too. :)

I'm also continuing the ban into February -- and have been going since November!  Excited to see how long I can last before I see a true need for something.
