Title: Mo-Movember Brainstorm Challenge Ideas
Post by: Barry on September 21, 2012, 03:18:02 PM
There's already a pretty awesome Movember movement here in Canada, where moustaches are grown all the month of November as a prostate awareness stunt.
( Lots of info here:  http://ca.movember.com/about )

I figure there has to be some challenge synergy there we can fire each other up with.

I'm considering growing the facial 'stache, and as I'm nearing the prostate screening age, doing my best to modifying my diet lifestyle to reduce my prostate cancer risk (and presumeably reduce my month costs).

The philanthropic folk here may choose to grow their facial 'stache proportional to their money stash, and donate the savings to prostate cancer research.

Hell, maybe we make it just a manly moustache-growing competition here on the forum.

What do you all think?

(Edit:  I do not currently sport the moustache in worn in my avatar, but I will throw down the gauntlet if the time comes....)

This is hilarious. Not the prostate cancer or donation part. The facial hair growing contest part.

I participated a few years back, and discovered I look like Early Hickey.

I had an idea last year.

A group raising money and breaking every rule of Movember.  Each person picks a rule to break from the following.  Start raising money on the fifth of November with a call out to join your group.

If we had a V for Vendetta poster like below with something like the following it would be funny.

"Remember, Remember the Fifth of Movember, I See no Reason Why the Moustache Treason Should Ever Be Forgot."

It would take a bit of time to make the V an M and change the caption but if you're good with photoshop it wouldn't be hard.  Everybody breaks one rule (I think breaking the gentleman rule would be the most fun but that might just be me).
