I'm in! I ended 2018 down 11.4 lbs for the year. Better than it has been the last few years, but still a long ways to go to my goal.
Some observations from last year: I started off strong, lots of exercise and calorie tracking, and lost my first 10 lbs pretty quickly. Then, when I got busy at work in the summer, things slowed down a lot, but I still kept losing, down to a loss of 20 lbs at the beginning of October. That's when things hit peak busyness at work and I also was dealing with an unusually high anxiety level. I re-gained about 4 lbs then, then 5 more during the holiday season.
What was interesting to me was that I was able to keep losing over the summer, even after I had stopped calorie tracking. The regaining didn't start until I was under a lot of stress and then had constant holiday food temptations around for 2 months.
My plan this year is to really focus on weight loss for the next four months, because I've learned that that's the time of year it's easier for me. Also, a big bucket-list trip to Europe is at the end of those four months, and the healthier I can feel by then, the more fun I'll have traipsing around all the cities :)
To kick things off, I'm going to sign up for the premium version of MyNetDiary to get my calorie tracking up and running again. I'm also doing a no-sweets challenge for January.
