Thanks for making the June spreadsheet, martynthewolf!!
Here's the May wrap-up:
We had a record-breaking 55 participants, who biked a combined 6,176 miles!! That's like biking from Los Angeles to Peru!
Our total mileage since the challenges started is 38,675 miles! That's like biking from the northern tip of Alaska to the southern tip of Argentina. AND BACK AGAIN!!!!!!
When it comes to preventing CO2 from polluting the atmosphere, we've saved a collective 19 TONS of it!!! That's the weight of a Stryker tank! (Once again, we get to visualize face-punching an enormous object made entirely of CO2 right out of our atmosphere! Get outta here!)
As for the GEOGRAPHICAL SHOWDOWN, the results may be a bit messed up since they got shuffled part way through the month, so take these with a grain of salt. I grouped regions to make it more even:
The Southwest (CA, NV): 1181 mi
The Smokey Mountains (GA, SC, TN): 1003 mi
The Thirteen Colonies (NY, PA, DC): 909 mi
The Neighbors to the North (Canada): 739 mi
The Great Lakes (IL, MI): 653 mi
The United Nations (i.e. everyone not in North America): 413 mi
The Pacific Northwest (Seattle): 265 mi
As for the original rivalry (Seattle vs San Diego) it's San Diego by a landslide with 425 miles vs Seattle's 265 miles. We'll get you next time, San Diego!!!!
