Hit the $100k in Investment Mark
« on: February 04, 2015, 02:05:27 PM »
Today when I checked my mint.com I noticed my investments had just passed the $100k mark.  To make sure (trust but verified) I logged into each account and totaled it up myself.  Yup!  I finally hit that magic number!

Congrats on the achievement! I hit $100,000 mark for my investments just a couple months ago. It was a nice feeling. Now that I think about it, I think this is the first time I've told anyone - my wife included. All she wants to know is whether or not we are "on track". The details don't mean squat to her.

I've always heard the first $100k is the hardest.  I'm hoping that is true.

Exciting! I finally got all my investments transferred over to Questrade. I'm a couple hundred short of $50k. Looking forward to $100k! :D

Nice!  You'll have an extra zero on the backend before you know it.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.

The road from 100k to 1mil seems daunting =D

Congrats!  We are sitting at about 78k in investments right now. At our current savings rate, we should hit about 130k invested by the end of the year assuming the market stays flat.

The same thing that gets you to six figures gets you to seven.

Applied efforts over time.

Investing in the right things starts to matter more than straight savings, eventually, but it's still just that steady applied effort.
