For the past year or so, I've been pretty obsessed with the idea of minimalism and decluttering. I've been slowly getting rid of most of my collection of stuff. I've cut my wardrobe down to about half of its size (still considering of reducing it further), realized I didn't need 5 pairs of jeans and like 10 different pairs of pajama pants or a drawer overflowing with socks. Down to 10 pairs of shoes, that I actually wear regularly. Got rid of all of my DVDs and CDs, all but one shelf of books, most of my random knick-knacks, most of my beauty stuff, art supplies I never used, etc.
I'm moving out of my parents' house in the fall, and I'd like to make the move as smooth as possible, by not lugging a lot of stuff with me. As much as I've already gotten rid of, I feel like there's still quite a bit more to go. I'm in the process of trying to sell this last bit of stuff through a mix of Ebay, Amazon, and local Facebook buy/sell groups. Kind of a slow process, and sometimes I think of just saying, "screw it" and tossing it all in a big bag to go to the Goodwill, but I could use the chunk of change for living expenses and such. I feel like I've come a long way in removing emotional attachments to physical possessions!
