Just joined
DietBetter. There is a bet to
lose 10% and two more to
lose 4%. I calculated out what I would need to do to win and figured that I have a very good chance if I stick to it. With $100 on the line when I see that slice of pizza I think "Is that slice worth $100?" The 4% is the toughest one, it means losing 1kg(2.2lbs) a week.
My exercise routine now is:
1) Run 1 mile each morning (~200 Cal)
2) Ride longer route from work (~100 Cal)
3) Dance for 30 minutes (~400 Cal)
4) Restart the 100 & 200 challenge (Not sure how to measure this)
5) Run a 5k every weekend (~50 Cal averaged over the week taking into account the missed 1 mile)
With #4 I'll get to the point where I'm comfortable and just repeat instead of forcing myself to progress and end up giving up. I know I can keep this up for 1 month, then I'll just have 6% to lose by December to give me a month to keep losing or maintain.
On the other side of the equation I've made the following changes:
1) Use 1/2 cup granola instead of 1 cup granola for breakfast (~200 Cal)
2) Eat a lean and green for dinner (~200 Cal)
This gets me to around 1150 Cal removed from my diet and should put me into 1kg of weight loss a week (7716Cal/kg) with a little bit of room for error. You can check out my progress at OpenDiet.net in my signature.
