Until the markets stablized, I'll probably be inbetween this thread and the race to 100K

JAN 2022: 40,699.37
MAR 2022: 87,840.41
JUN 2022:  86,153.42
AUG 2022: 100,611.5

JAN 2023: 109,070.31

Oct 2023: 147,632.73

Been a ridiculously spendy 12 months for me. Planning to challenge no buy for 6 months.

Jan 2024: 176,026

Feb 2024: 192,902
I may reach for the stars and try to get to $250K, but we'll see.

March 2024: 216,138.71

Got my yearly bonus and the no buy has been good. I did have to fly out for an emergency but net worth has gotten a market boost too.

Started reading MMM in Dec19, been coming along nicely.

We've got a big move coming up to one of the most expensive locations to live in the world.. but it comes with a pay bump that should cover for the increase in living cost and over time reduce our tax burden. If all goes well I'll be hitting 220k this year, but as I am holding a lot of cash in JPY right now FX is being a big pain in the butt (hence the drop in March just now which is all FX loss :')).

Holy cow.. We graduated the thread!
Despite a big unexpected expense back in February things have been going quite well. Market gains have definitely pushed this way beyond expectations. I'll give it another 2 months before I move on to the next thread, never know where the market will take us next.

That's awesome @DieHard_772!  Great job.  If I remember right you're trying to graduate this thread by the end of next year?  You might make that goal early my friend.  Go go go!

@Trifle Many thanks!

@FrugalFukuoka Looks like you gained over $50k in the past six months! Regardless of what happens in the next few months, keep in mind that you still reached the goal.

Appreciate the highlight, that alone is a bit surreal for sure. I still vividly remember my days 7 years ago living from paycheck to paycheck..

Appreciate the highlight, that alone is a bit surreal for sure. I still vividly remember my days 7 years ago living from paycheck to paycheck..

@FrugalFukuoka I've been there. This way is so much sweeter.

Hello!  I am excited to move into this thread from the race to 100K.  :)  It took me 7 years to go from zero to $100K.  Not sure what'll happen with $250, but I'm just thrilled to be here as a relatively low earner single person spending close to an entire paycheck on rent.  It's bananas how much my 401K grew in the last half of a year.

We surpassed $250k NW this month, up about $50k since December!

When I started my MMM journey in September 2016 I was at -$78k.  That's over $300k swing in less than 8 years.

I guess I'm moving to the $250k+ thread now...

HIT 250k!!!! Wasn’t sure it would happen this month since we had to write a check for almost $9k to pay taxes, had our two year old b day party with a bunch of family in town, and had to replace a washer in our home and a dishwasher in a rental. Even with all of that, still got enough of an upward tick to move us to the next level. Good luck to all of you on the race to $250k and beyond!

July 2018 - £20,385
 - Annual gain 2018 - £4,119

Jan 2019 - £25,295
Nov 2019 - £38,588
 - Annual gain 2019 - £13,293

Jan 2020 - £43,260
Aug 2020 - £50,172
Dec 2020 - £62,638
 - Annual gain 2020 - £19,108

Jan 2021 - £64,542
Dec 2021 - £105,802 (graduated to next thread!)
 - Annual gain 2021 - £41,278

Jan 2022 - £91,915
Dec 2022 - £103,544
 - Annual gain 2022 £11,629 BUT still down on Dec 2021. Awful year.

Jan 2023 - £109,683
Dec 2023 - £134,519
 - Annual gain 2023 £24,836

Jan 2024 - £124,775 - house reno money came out
Feb 2024. - £130,454
Mar 2024 - £136,887
Apr 2024 - £136,997

Small gain this month despite putting in £1,300 or so fresh cash (mostly through employer contribution pension).

Slight change of strategy for next few months as I want to double my emergency cash pile and maintain it at that doubled level. It occurs to me that with inflation, my emergency stache is not the buffer it once was!

This does mean less will be going into the investment pot, but a worthwhile short term tactic.

Keep rolling everyone!
