Challenge: Get to 100K invested in index funds in 2021
« on: April 07, 2021, 10:03:04 AM »
Hi there,
I'm new to the forum and hope I found the right board to share this on.

I've recently been pondering my portfolio and noticed that I'm extremely underweight on stocks/index funds.

At the start of the year, I was at just 5K in index funds. I've since gotten to 29K and today I decided to challenge myself to get to 100K invested by the end of the year. I have a somewhat solid plan to get to 80K through portfolio redistribution and saving, but the remaining gap will be a challenge.

I've summarized my starting situation and plan in a blog post here:https://bit.ly/msl-100k-invest-challenge (hope that's ok to post, let me know if not!).

I'm looking both for advice as well as "running mates". Anyone care to join in on the challenge? Also, if any one has any tips on more initiatives I could try to close the expected gap, I'm all ears. Would love some feedback!

Welcome, sounds like an excellent goal!

You can also consider joining the tangentially-related "race" thread:
