I am past the halfway point, so currently on schedule and since my days off are Tues - Thurs this week, I expect to get quite a bit of writing done this week. At this point I"m sure I will have 50K words before the end of the month based on my work schedule, but need to really make some changes to the beginning so it's not so disjointed. I'm a fly-by-the-seat kind of writer so I have to fix the flow once I have an ending :)

I passed 30k today.

Before nanowrimo I claimed I wasn't a joiner and then I well, joined.  I wasn't writing enough and now I am.  My head is WAY more into my book now.  I'm looking forward to December and then going back in January to edit and revise.

I'm rooting for y'all!  I like that you prepped and now you're riding the waves.  NaNoWriMo seems to me very similar to a Marathon.  Remember to grab the salty, sugary drinks at the aid stations and listen for cramping or friction.

After FIRE, freewriting will be a significant activity for me; for now, it is a significant hobby.  I have always enjoyed the idea of writing retreats for full focus on large projects. NaNoWriMo seems to be a way to force a space for personal retreat from the yet ongoing concerns of life. I am awfully afraid to let my creative intuitions compete with my current work/income responsibilities! I would be content and homeless under a warm bridge! For now, I must prefer 3 milers.

Cheers to you!

I can't believe it but I won!  50k words in 20 days and I might actually have a book, after massive editing and rewrites of course, but I'm going to hold off on that, I need to get some distance and approach it with a fresh eye and all that.

Happy writing to the rest of my fellow NaNo'ers!

Congrats!  Me, too!

I'm not to the end of the story, I have lots of holes to fill, and there's a lot of it that will end up deleted or edited beyond recognition, but there's so part that I think are pretty darn good, too.

I'm at 40k.  I'm at a point where I want to re-jigger the structure a bit and that makes it harder to write.  But I'm just 10k away.  I need to spend some time this morning and work out how the change ups affect the plot - then it should get easier to write

This week I finished the first edit (about 3.5k in pure rewrites) and started/completed new writing project (about 20k total). Going to need to find something new to keep up my momentum...

Almost all time zones are out of time now, right? How many people made it over the finish line?

I had quite a successful month. I could actually sustain this level of writing for a longer period, but I don't have enough notes prepared to write that much without getting ahead of myself (and I find that to be extremely unproductive).

I did it!  Confirmed my word count on Monday, before leaving on a trip Wednesday.  I was at about 51k at that point, though I'd done some editing and had deleted a bit.

Congratulations to all who finished Nanowrimo. I have not done it since 2009, but remember the lack of sleep, the dirty hair, the general stress of trying to get it done with the added time-suck of the Thanksgiving holidays in November. So, well-done, all!

I got to 50,030 and submitted the pile of words.

I'm taking the week off but couldn't help but add in a minor plot twist yesterday.
