Bad Habit Beat Down November 2016
« on: October 24, 2016, 09:36:18 PM »
Hey guys!

Starting November first lets try to change a bad habit that we have whether it is a routine that we follow or something we do that is undesirable.

Every day that we make it without doing this thing make a post in this thread saying "Success!"

WHO IS WITH ME?!??!?!

I'll Start:

  • Buying an energy drink every work day
  • Vaping

Thats a great idea.  They say that the fastest way to success is replacing bad habits with good ones.

Mine will be to kick soda to the curb and drink water instead.  Also to eat healthy snacks instead of candy and chips.  My biggest one I need to remedy is to greatly reduce screen time on my phone.

I'm in.

My husband's birthday is in November and he hates clothes lying on the floor. So my birthday present for him this year is to leave zero clothes on the floor for the month.

few more days and we shall start, I am thinking about just focusing on the Energy Drinks and keep vaping until I am done with the drinks. Both might be to much at once taking away caffeine and nicotine.

Fomerly known as something

I shall take 5 minutes a day to straighten up my kitchen/living room.  AKA be neater.

I'm a slob.  I normally only put away stuff every other week when I clean.  Of course this makes cleaning time take much longer than it should.

Success!

Started early yesterday on 4 hours of sleep and felt very lethargic at work and I hear the third day is the worst.

I'm going to not drink diet coke/ coke zero and I'm going to ride my bike at least every Tuesday to work since it's my day off of school.

I'm in on this, I've been drinking too much wine lately. Something that used to be once in a while turned into every single day.

I will also try and reduce my phone time, the GF always complains that I'm on it too much anyways.

I'm in too! No sugary sweets and no alcohol, at least not at home. Okay to have a social drink, but no glass (or two) of alcohol at home to wind down from my job.

Normally I don't drink soda on workdays but weekends when I'm home and there's soda laying around..... that's a different story.

Also I'm very prone to acne these days so cutting out sugary drinks seems like a fun experiment......

On top of my: no screen time after 10pm, I've decided to go no sweets this November. And I'm classifying that as no extra sweets, I'm limiting myself to 1 sweet a day (whatever that may be), but it will probably end up being less. :D

Goodluck all!!

I'm implementing Novembeer. Three weddings in October took their toll on me.

Curbing surfing the internet for no reason.  Sucks up so much time. I finally have to face the fact I am addicted and a bit bored.  I will need to find something else to do.

Kick the snacking. I love snacks a little too much. :)

Day 2 and still no alcohol consumed.

That's not surprising considering we're still midweek and I rarely drank on weekdays anyway.

Friday and Saturday will be more difficult I anticipate.

I haven't had soda in 2 days, but I did have four small candies because Halloween X_X

This week I've only had water, a cup of hot cocoa and two coffees...

Day 2, Have not had an energy drink though I did feel very lethargic today despite seven hours of sleep. I hear the third day is the worst.

I'm doing pretty well on the no sugary snacks, but I decided I might need a few beers this month since there's a wacky election going on and work is stressful, so I've modified my bad habit beat down plan to just getting rid of sugar. I feel much better without all the sugar! Hope everyone else is finding success!

First week with no Energy drinks and I have been feeling pretty good, could also be because I have been getting more sleep too.

Starting two years ago, I did a "NOvember":

No Wheat
No sugar (or honey, or maple syrup)
No alcohol
No fried foods

30 days.

This is my third year (though last year it ended 10 days early because the whole family got the stomach flu, and I lived on saltines and plain pasta).

Anyway, so far so good.  I was cleaning up the kids' mac and cheese and unthinkingly ate off the spoon.  Ah well, one bite.
