I'm almost embarrassed that I really don't have any goals right now except my fitness. The author of this thread keeps posting a list from here to Timbuktu, and I just have one single-minded focus.

My objective for July is to be under 200# from the starting point of 205.6#. I'm going to be in central Ohio Amish country for half of the month, so this might be a supreme test of my willpower vs. Amish baking. <drool>

My objective for July is to be under 200# from the starting point of 205.6#.

I keep setting what I feel are realistic and achievable goals, but clearly I need to either be more ambitious in my goals or let up on the throttle.

I already met this goal - I was 205.6 Saturday morning to start the month, the next morning I was 203.2, then 201.0 yesterday, and 199.8 this morning.

To be fair, this is atypical - I spent the past few days doing lots of manual labor around my friend's Montana property, which obviously burned more than I expected.

Now for my normal game to see by how much I can beat my goal at the end of the month.

I've lurked in the monthly goals post for the past several months and would like to now take part.

I am giving myself just 3 goals to start with the first month:

-Read 1 book
-Do yoga at least 12 days this month
-Eat all the items in my freezer over 6 months old

Welcome to all the newer folks! Love to have a more active thread. And @RetireOrDieTrying, no shame about keeping your goals focused and achievable! When you've got something that's very important to you, it makes perfect sense not to clutter up your to-do list with less important goals.

My lists the last few months have been nuts because we just bought a house and I'm 5 months pregnant. There's a ton of stuff we need to do before I get too unwieldy to do them.

Slightly early weekly update, as we'll be out of town over the weekend.

1. Read 5 books (include DNFs) - 3/5, on track
  a. 3 from TBR - 2/3, one in progress
  b. 1 sequel - 1 in progress
2. Spend time outside 23/30 days - 3/6, well behind pace. Between the awful heat and the air quality, this may not be feasible.
3. Start doing yoga again - not yet, but I found a Youtube playlist of prenatal yoga to use

Creativity
4. Canning
  a. Cherry Preserves - Done!
  b. Cherry Pie - Done!
  c. Pickled Eggs - Done!

House Stuff:
5. Setup
  a. Make a plan for getting art framed
  b. Hang all art that is framed - Progress! We hung stuff until we ran out of hangers, then ordered more hangers which just came
  c. Storage moved to attic
  d. Boxes moved to basement (after flood remediation)
6. Repair Basement  - Remediation is done, so this can start any time
  a. Bathroom
    i. Drywall
    ii. Tape/Mud
    iii. Paint
    iv. Trim/Baseboards
    v. Reinstall Plumbing (washer/dryer, sink, toilet)
  b. Main Room
    i. Drywall
    ii. Tape/Mud
    iii. Wainscot (?)
    iv. Paint (?)
    v. Trim/Baseboards

Social:
7. Family Reunion - all planned, executing this weekend!
8. Plan Dad's Visit
9. Plan Housewarming Party
10. MIL's Birthday (?)

Final month-end update: I have chosen to level off at just under 200 pounds (90kg). I'm in size 30" (76cm) waist pants (I'm 6'/189cm tall) and I feel exceptional. I have energy and my mental health is somehow much improved. I'm getting out of bed early in the mornings ready to take on the world. Blood pressure is 113/72, with a resting heart rate of 51. Without any false modesty, I know I'm looking about as good as I ever have.

By continuing to religiously monitor my intake, I have consistently maintained 197-199 for the past three weeks. I have found, as I suspected, that I now don't enjoy sugary or fried foods like once I did, having developed new preferences. I think this changing of habits is going to be key to maintaining my fitness over time.

It's time to turn up the knob on the "build and tone" part of the fitness journey.

Now I have to think up of an August goal. [scratchhead]
