i am really not able to get into any of the audiobooks ive made attempts at for a while now, so ive given up for now. im enjoying listening to music.
this has quite a bit to do with the fact that what is available in my library system is not my style, however certain audiobooks have got my attention and expanded my horizons which is positive. our system here is really not bad in terms of books- so much more than what is available for many of you, ive noted- and im sure the audiobook selection is more extensive for these same folks, but ours is pitiful, outdated, and no variation.
we have access to not just our county, but thru 'Link+' we can access books across all of california, including colleges! still, quite a few rare or older books(even only from the 1960's! or even from the 1990's!!!) are not available, obviously through lack of checkouts over time. this is a bummer. and some books are even not listed used on amazon, or maybe for some ridiculous price, due to their rarity.
anyway, rant over.
im now reading through my bookshelves again, as ive once again accumulated a couple dozen or more... last time i did really well, discarding many without even bothering to read- purged approx. 90% (excellent).
so, no library books for me for the time being. its amazing how many books seem appealing, then dont when it gets down to reading them down the road. in future, id better read these right away while they are still appealing!
