In theory I was 'supposed' to add more new goals every month, but I think I've hit my limit of things to track at once.  I'm going to hold off on the new goals until I feel some of the old ones are ready to drop off the list.

Continued Goals:
1. Better sleep - maintain bedtime routine, hit lights-out target at least 28/31 days. (Last month 28/30)
2. Meditate daily - 10 min per day, target 25/31 days. (Last month 17/30)
3. Exercise - take a walk or exercise every day. Target 20/31 days. (Last month 15/30)
4. Reading - Read 4 books, at least 1 nonfiction
5. Try something difficult or new - target 3 attempts (Last month 4)
6. Show Up - Connect with people at least twice per week (Target 8)
7. Bring People Together - Host a (remote or distanced) gathering at least three times
8. Cherish/Create Traditions (Target at least 1)
9. Make Time for Fun.  Target 10/31 days. (Last month 3/30)
10. Don't Argue on Autopilot

Bonus goals:
12. Home Renovation
 a. Vacuum dust
 b. Pull nails from ceiling beams
 c. Remove trim
   1) Windows
   2) Doors/Closets
   3) Baseboards
 d. Re-mortar brick
 e. Install insulation
   1) Ceiling/Roof
   2) Wall
   3) Floor
 f. Install drywall
 g. Install ceilings
 h. Sister floor joists (if needed)

ETA: Also, I can't believe it's October already.  What is with this year?

So here is my list for October. Somewhat in order of importance.
Moving will of course be the big thing and theme for the month, otherwise it very much same as previous months. I want to try to stick to the routines as much as possible, even though it will be a really strange month.

  • Pack everything well in advance of moving day.
  • Unpack and get the new place in order quickly. Focus on kids' room.
  • Better sleep, try to be in bed by 10pm, lights out at 10.30 pm when working the next day. Try to go to bed early and rise early also during weekends. I can be pretty sure the kids will continue to not sleep well.
  • Enjoy the last days in the house together with the kids and alone.
  • Secret goal, cannot tell, but it requires patience until Oct 12th when I get the keys to my apartment. After that I really want progress, but it isn't fully up to me, but I need to try my best.
  • Set up finances for the future and a renovation plan.
  • Go swimming, either on my own or practice w/teacher at least two times.
  • Go to practice at least four times (if healthy).
  • Shape up at work. At least four pomodoros/work day. I need to get back on track.
  • Continuous goals: Keep up w/Italian, walking, keyboard writing, keeping in touch w/friends and parents, up to date w/finances at least once /week.

1) Sort out our grocery budget. It's gotten *way* out of hand, since the pandemic started. Decide what we're willing to pay extra for, and what we can cut. We already do meal planning & leftovers & reducing waste & all of that good stuff. This is the next level of harder cuts.
2) Continue all of my daily goals (work out, journal, posture exercise, 1 item listed on eBay, Doulingo practice, 1 chore, 1 kind deed)
3) Have an appt with an attorney on our will & guardianship docs
4) Schedule a video call or make videos for my in laws (we can't see each other due to travel restrictions)
5) Figure out options for time alone with my husband, in these crazy COVID times. Walks? Picnic? It's our 15th anniversary & we had plans to go to Italy. Instead, we'll be taking the day off of work together & figuring something out at home, while the kids do distance learning. Almost the same. ;-)
6) Read non-fiction group for work book club

October 2020 Goals list, adjusted for realism:

1. Biz/Hustle -- at least 3 hours per workday doing what my roadmap calls for at that time.
2. Personal Time -- take 1-2 days per week OFF from work! Listening to industry-related podcasts and books while I'm doing other stuff is OK.
3. Meditation -- 15 min per day (I use Insight Timer, free. None of the paid options).
4. Exercise -- walk or lift.
5. Skincare -- follow the schedule I already set up.
6. Show Up -- connect with people at least twice per week. Actually express gratitudes vs. just feeling them and saying nothing.
7. Financial Awareness -- track it all and don't get distracted again.
8. Tidy -- every day, set a timer for 20 minutes and put things away or clean something.
9. Dryish October -- drink less, buy less booze.
10. Check in -- reread this post every day to keep myself pointed in the right direction, dammit.

1. Minimal spend month again. Since I did well with this last month, I am going to try to beat last months number. So last month only had 10 spend days. Hopefully I will have another large chunk of extra money to throw on my student loan payoff.
2. At least 3 runs days a week this month. I have been increasing my running, but I am inconsistent. One week I will have 4 days of running and the next only 2. I would like this to be a minimum of 3 for the week and 4 would be better. This will probably be my last month of regular outdoor running since I live in MA. November will probably turn nasty and I will be doing more indoor workouts. So this is a good month to get the most runs in that I can.
3. Reducing stress in regards to my work and kids school. I need to make a more focused effort on not letting myself become so stressed over work issues and also my kids school work. They are new middle schoolers and their workload has more than doubled from last year. They are struggling with keeping on task during homework times and have built up quite a backlog of uncompleted assignments and we are only 3 weeks into the school year. Their teacher and I have worked out plan with them on how they will proceed going forward to keep up with the work. This has had me so stressed this week, my psoriasis is starting to have a flare up. I need to reduce how much internal stress I take on with my work and their schoolwork.

Thank you for this thread, as I need a kick in the arse.

1.  Exercise - Run, swim, lift, and HIIT workouts, any combo of those things, 5 days a week, for at least 30 minutes per day.
2.  Groceries - Allot $15/week to fresh food (or $60 for all groceries this month), everything else will come from my pantry, refrigerator/freezer.
3.  Reading - Finish 3 books.  Currently working on Deepfakes by Nina Schick.
4.  Finances - Consolidate HSAs.
5.  Declutter - Set aside 62 items to donate (2 items per day).

I was feeling fine about how the goals were going mid-September, but then went on a road trip as a support person for a family member, which turned out to be stressful in two ways: as the support person, and for being out of my normal environment. So it's taking a bit to get back on track. It feels like a long time, but I know it's really just a blip in my lifetime.

October goals:

hydration goal: 24 1
flossing: 16 1
physical therapy: 8 0
upping the ante: Stretching and/or yoga: 11 0
outdoor activity: 16 1
sleep tracking: 31 2
upping the ante: respecting bedtime (5 min earlier than last month): 24 2

clean up email inbox (starting with 422 emails) under 300 435 Ack!
Clear Pile Of Doom (papers) once this month 0

I usually update on Saturdays, but I'm going to move this one up since I'm taking some time off for home renovation, and I expect to be exhausted and off my routine.

Continued Goals:
1. Better sleep - maintain bedtime routine, hit lights-out target at least 28/31 days. (Last month 28/30)
 - 5/6, and the miss was a deliberate choice rather than an accident
2. Meditate daily - 10 min per day, target 25/31 days. (Last month 17/30)
 - None.  I'm putting this on hold temporarily, as the room I normally meditate in currently has a hole in the ceiling, and I don't have another place to go that doesn't stress me out.
3. Exercise - take a walk or exercise every day. Target 20/31 days. (Last month 15/30)
 - 5/6, most days the 'exercise' was house labor, carting bags of debris about, etc, but it still counts.
4. Reading - Read 4 books, at least 1 nonfiction
 - 1/4, slow going on the nonfiction because I don't want to be reading it.
5. Try something difficult or new - target 3 attempts (Last month 4)
 - 2/3, one cooking something new, one learning a home repair task
6. Show Up - Connect with people at least twice per week (Target 8)
 - 1/8
7. Bring People Together - Host a (remote or in person) gathering at least three times
 - 2/3, I'm counting times when people come over to help with the house and we feed them - might be cheating, but it's what we've got
8. Cherish/Create Traditions (Target at least 1)
 - None
9. Make Time for Fun.  Target 10/31 days. (Last month 3/30)
 - None
10. Don't Argue on Autopilot
 - None, but there haven't been any opportunities, so we'll call it a win.

Bonus goals:
12. Home Renovation
 a. Vacuum dust - ongoing
 b. Pull nails from ceiling beams - done
 c. Remove trim
   1) Windows
   2) Doors/Closets
   3) Baseboards - done
 d. Re-mortar brick - started, behind schedule
 e. Install insulation
   1) Ceiling/Roof
   2) Wall
   3) Floor
 f. Install drywall
 g. Install ceilings
 h. Sister floor joists (if needed)

We are behind schedule on the home renovation.  We had planned to have the mortaring done over the weekend, but only got about a third completed.  Did some more work Monday, might try to do more tonight, but even if we finish it won't have time to cure before Friday when my dad visits to help us with insulation and drywall.  We'll just have to skip that wall.

One week in, status update:

1) Sort out our grocery budget. It's gotten *way* out of hand, since the pandemic started. Decide what we're willing to pay extra for, and what we can cut. We already do meal planning & leftovers & reducing waste & all of that good stuff. This is the next level of harder cuts. - Paused our produce box. I think I can find times to safely go to the produce stand (it's indoor), at a time when socially distancing is possible.
2) Continue all of my daily goals (work out, journal, posture exercise, 1 item listed on eBay, Doulingo practice, 1 chore, 1 kind deed) - Doing well, but have slowed down on Duolingo & need to get back to this.
3) Have an appt with an attorney on our will & guardianship docs - paperwork is completed, meeting is scheduled
4) Schedule a video call or make videos for my in laws (we can't see each other due to travel restrictions) - video shared, will try for another one
5) Figure out options for time alone with my husband, in these crazy COVID times. Walks? Picnic? It's our 15th anniversary & we had plans to go to Italy. Instead, we'll be taking the day off of work together & figuring something out at home, while the kids do distance learning. Almost the same. ;-) - We've done one outdoor dinner together, & will definitely plan for another
6) Read non-fiction group for work book club - haven't started yet

Ok, October is not going well, as I am unwell. I have fever and a sore throat and I just need to rest.  I realise my walking goal, and the exercise goal will probably not happen, but that's ok. Moving will happen. I have this Friday off for packing, boss thought that was a really good idea so I am glad I asked.

Italian is ok, secret goal is ok, keeping in touch and finances are ok so I think I am doing ok during these circumstances.

So here is my list for October. Somewhat in order of importance.
Moving will of course be the big thing and theme for the month, otherwise it very much same as previous months. I want to try to stick to the routines as much as possible, even though it will be a really strange month.

Have been so busy w/moving, but now it's time for an update.

I was very ill for a couple of days early in the month, and that continued to affect me during the rest of the weeks, I am still not 100% back, but I believe I can start w/light exercising now. Obviously, I will not reach any exercise related goals.
Green - yes, red - no, blue - good progress, orange - at risk.

So here is my list for October. Somewhat in order of importance.
Moving will of course be the big thing and theme for the month, otherwise it very much same as previous months. I want to try to stick to the routines as much as possible, even though it will be a really strange month.

  • Pack everything well in advance of moving day. Moving happened and went well, but it was not 'well in advance'.
  • Unpack and get the new place in order quickly. Focus on kids' room. Unpacking as much as I can, however the painter needs much more time, so living room is not finished - I can not put anything there. Otherwise good.
  • Better sleep, try to be in bed by 10pm, lights out at 10.30 pm when working the next day. Try to go to bed early and rise early also during weekends. I can be pretty sure the kids will continue to not sleep well. Not perfect but trying.
  • Enjoy the last days in the house together with the kids and alone. Yes, we did this.
  • Secret goal, cannot tell, but it requires patience until Oct 12th when I get the keys to my apartment. After that I really want progress, but it isn't fully up to me, but I need to try my best. I am doing my part as good as I can, however, this will not happen, maybe later, but not in October.
  • Set up finances for the future and a renovation plan. Need to work much more on this.

Missed week 3 update, so here's the (almost) end-of-month update.

Continued Goals:
1. Better sleep - maintain bedtime routine, hit lights-out target at least 28/31 days. (Last month 28/30)
 - 23/30, may be partly due to poor record keeping last week.
2. Meditate daily - 10 min per day, target 25/31 days. (Last month 17/30)
 - None, skipped this for the month.  I'm considering removing it from next month's goals, as I didn't really miss it.
3. Exercise - take a walk or exercise every day. Target 20/31 days. (Last month 15/30)
 - 16/30, better than last month but did not reach goal.
4. Reading - Read 4 books, at least 1 nonfiction
 - 11/4, including the nonfiction.  Win!
5. Try something difficult or new - target 3 attempts (Last month 4)
 - 8/3, added one additional new recipe this week.
6. Show Up - Connect with people at least twice per week (Target 8)
 - 11/8, success
7. Bring People Together - Host a (remote or in person) gathering at least three times
 - 8/3, success
8. Cherish/Create Traditions (Target at least 1)
 - Planning to do something tonight if I'm not too tired
9. Make Time for Fun.  Target 10/31 days. (Last month 3/30)
 - 1/30, and it was fantastic
10. Don't Argue on Autopilot
 - Success, avoided any major arguments.

Bonus goals:
12. Home Renovation
 a. Vacuum dust - ongoing
 b. Pull nails from ceiling beams - done
 c. Remove trim
   1) Windows - did one room
   2) Doors/Closets - done
   3) Baseboards - done
 d. Re-mortar brick - started, behind schedule
 e. Install insulation
   1) Ceiling/Roof - did one room, started next room
   2) Wall - Done
   3) Floor
 f. Install drywall - did one room
 g. Install ceilings - did one room, started next room
 h. Sister floor joists (if needed)

1.  Exercise - Success - 22/31  I think this thread helped me get back in a routine.
2.  Groceries - Success - $62.29  Close enough.
3.  Reading - Fail - 2.5/3
4.  Finances - Fail  I'm very much a procrastinator on this stuff......
5.  Declutter - Success - Over 100 items donated

I have been rotten at checking in but outcomes as follows
- Taxes - DONE
- Bookclub book 75% complete
- Daily ankle rehab - tracking about 70% and I need to focus on doing this for November as there is some slight traveling up into my hip/glute.

October was a very unusal month, with the move and trying to get the new apartment in order.
Here is my final update.

I was very ill for a couple of days early in the month, and that continued to affect me during the rest of the weeks, I am still not 100% back, but I believe I can start w/light exercising now. Obviously, I will not reach any exercise related goals. However, I am pretty pleased w/the month all in all.

I could have done more, but I have gotten a lot done. The painter is still not finished w/the living room - I can not put anything there. I am pretty pleased with what has been done so far, and also pleased w/the painter, he is doing a good job, it just needs a lot more 'pre-work'.
I have done what I could, however, this will not happen, maybe later, but not in October.
  • Set up finances for the future and a renovation plan. Need to work much more on this.
  • Go swimming, either on my own or practice w/teacher at least two times.
  • Go to practice at least four times (if healthy).
  • Shape up at work. At least four pomodoros/work day. I need to get back on track.Unsure if I should put this as red or green, it IS better but not as good as it should be.
  • Continuous goals: Keep up w/Italian, walking, keyboard writing, keeping in touch w/friends and parents, up to date w/finances at least once /week. Goal for walking was much higher, but as I was really ill beginning of month, this did not happen. However, from mid-Oct on, average is much better, and the yearly average is still above 7.500. So good enough - now I just need to finish strong so I can achieve the yearly average of 7.500.
