I do 100 situps :( it isn't helping get rid of my stomach blob... yes I know you can't target fat, but I thought i could target muscle growth lol
what's benefits do a kettleball swing offer to the stomach area? I'll try it out later, see if I like the feel of it
Is it possible to "throw" out your back doing this? I can see myself getting overly excited and swinging too hard
Yes, you can hurt yourself swinging with poor technique. If you don't care to get an instructor or a good DVD (I use and like SKOGG), at least watch some good YouTube videos and don't start too heavy. Tracy Reifkind (sp?) is probably a good one to look for an online tutorial from.
I don't do situps any more, just kettlebells. It works your entire core and posterior chain; much more efficient and effective than situps, which just work the rectus abdominus. Also works the shoulders and upper back while you're at it.
TR - I'm not doing 100 daily, but appreciate you bumping this thread to nudge me into going down to the basement and visiting my bells. I'm swinging maybe 2x per week. Going to say that getting into the more serious dressage work with my horse works my core on the rest of the days. Today I did about 40 swings with a 30# bell (1-handed), plus some snatches, TGUs and other exercises. Need to think about swinging my 50# (2-handed) at least for 10-20 reps, too.
