Regarding premium subsidies for the Health Care Exchanges
« on: November 15, 2015, 10:42:43 PM »
When filling out the forms on the federal exchange and determining income, and deductions, are these what you estimate will be the case for 2016? Presumably if income is low enough one can get subsidies for the health insurance.

Yes. From what I understand they may ask for some sort of proof if it's way off from last years', but typically not.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

They did ask for "proof" from me.

I haven't gotten the "everything is ok" yet, but I followed the recommendations in this thread (and the referenced earl-yretirement.org links).
