International Stock Index Fund - Taxable or Retirement Account?

Hi,

I am new to investing outside of my retirement accounts, and am wondering whether to put 10K into the Vanguard International Stock Index Fund in my taxable account or in my retirement account. 

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Whether or not the foreign tax credit is sufficient depends on such factors as the the percentage of the fund's foreign source income component, the foreign tax rate, the percentage of the foreign dividends that are qualified, and the the US marginal tax bracket of the fundholder.
