Title: Do you like your Mileage Log App?
Post by: cpa cat on July 23, 2016, 10:34:28 AM
I need a mileage log app. I want one that starts automatically and is easy to use.

Do you have one that you like? What do you like about it? What do you dislike?

Do you have a referral link?

I've heard good things about MileIQ.  I know it's automatic.  I think it's $60/yr.

My GF and I just use an Excel spreadsheet.  But that's for a few 100+ mile drives per month, not a bunch of shorter drives, which would be more of a pain to keep up with manually.

Following.
Right now I use Excel and googlemaps to tell me the mileage and it works pretty well.

I use Excel currently. I rely on my calendar and go through my appointments and log mileage. I'm missing a lot of stuff though, because it doesn't land on my calendar. Post office stops, bank stops, etc. Things that are easy to forget. I don't drive a lot, so I estimate that probably 75% of my mileage is business related - however, my mileage log indicates that I'm actively recording a lot less than that.

This is why I need an app.

We've been testing out a couple at work and found everlance (free) worked really well on iPhones, not so much on android.  Mileiq worked better on android, but still not as well as on iPhones, but wasn't cheap. HTH!

I use MileIQ for free since I usually have fewer than 40 business drives per month. I love how it automatically logs everything so that I don't have to remember to activate a tracking app. It will grab all trips tho including transit, but you can just delete the ones that aren't applicable.

I just type in the mileage on my car, and type that into my phone, and make a call. This way I record the miles, and can refer back to my phone. Then I type these mileage numbers onto an Excel Spreadsheet.

There is a app called as Sherpashare. It can help you track your mileage, expenses and earnings etc.
