gone-AT&T U-verse (-$41 for 3mb/s)
going-AT&T landline (-$84 including long distance plan/fees/etc)
modified-Direct TV -$18 (kind of a push, DW got the genie service for free I guess and a new 12 month contract and threatened to quit)
addedCox Infinity single-play Internet service +$20 (20mb/s - $25 install fee, $13 cable modem one-time charges tho)
added VOIPo landline/SIP phone +$6.21 (2-yr unlimited plan, also an ATA device here for $45)
decided to ease in w/voip.ms [free for now, probably 5-10/month tops, still using a $45 ATA
pending Cell Phones: not started yet but currently paying $150/mo, contract expires in Nov
net savings: approx $100/mo on an annual basis. I actually havent whacked the landline yet but I fully plan to port over some google voice #'s over and play around with it
easily another $50 to gain on cell phone monthly
#facepunch :)

Great job, JoeT! $1,200 per years is impressive.
We are halfway through our transition from Verizon to Republic which will ultimately save us $1,400 / year.

I imagine every 12 months or so I'll bounce between a cable/DSL/U-verse type internet provider to keep it in the 20-30 range (provider flapping). although some now say 'have you been our customer within the last 24 months' which makes that seem difficult. heh. OK I'll just leech from a neighbor. WPA encryption lol
