Usually I start my day with oatmeal and tea but today I had a toasted pita with PB, half an orange and a handful of raspberries.  And tea in a travel mug for my drive to class. :)

Huevos Rancheros (well, just one huevo). An egg from the CSA box, fried in olive oil, on top of a corn tortilla, topped with homemade tomatillo salsa. Plus home roasted coffee.

I usually start with coffee, but I'm on day 3 of weening myself off this.  Not too bad withdrawal...

Todays breakfast was homemade cereal with blueberries.

Sauteed some bell pepper, mushrooms and zuchinni, added leftover beans, rice and taco meat, put it all in a bowl with two eggs, salsa and guac on the side. No need to eat again until dinner time.

I wasn't hungry but I'm required to eat by my Dr. So I had a hard boiled egg and an orange.

Nothing!!*

I am on hour 38 of a fast. I don't know how long I'll go but I'll try to make it to tomorrow morning which would be about 60 hours.

Yesterday, during the fast I went snowboarding and then went for an hour long walk to burn through the glycogen stores. I woke up pretty early and couldn't go back to sleep because of the extra energy from the blood ketones. I measured the BHB at 0.8mmol which means I hit nutritional ketosis during the night and my body is burning fat and not muscle.

*Actually, I did have some Bulletproof coffee in the morning but this will not raise blood glucose or insulin values. It will also not kick your body out of autophagy and it eases you into the fast with almost no hunger or suffering. So maybe I am only getting 95% of the benefits of fasting but I am reducing the "suffering," which is really minimal anyway.

I might have burned some muscle during hours 24-36 as my body was going into ketosis and fat burning but I don't know when that would have happened. If I had an unlimited supply of blood ketone strips I might test every hour. However, at $4 each that will get expensive.  Any money I am saving by not eating is getting burned up by testing blood glucose and blood ketones. Haha!

Nothing but coffee, a little milk, and 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil. That carries me through to dinner. I tried eating breakfast but it just made me groggy and I gained weight. freeing myself of constant eating dependency has been liberating. You don't have to graze all day like a cow!

Alternate each morning for the most part, one morning will be a bowl of old fashioned oats with cinnamon, ginger and a banana added in with one cup of coffee, next morning will be 2 egg omelette with curry and cayenne pepper mixed in and what ever random veggies might be in the fridge (tomato, mushroom, spinach etc.) and 2 pieces of whole grain toast and jam with a banana and one cup of coffee.

A bagel - free  - brought home all the leftover bagels from work a couple days ago.  There's a lot of extra food where I work (medical practice) and I take a lot home.  Not sure why no one else does but whatever.  Still have 8 more bagels in my freezer.  :)

"bulletproof" coffee with 2T MCT oil and 2T cream. I will have the same for lunch and then do my Body By Science workout completely fasted at 4 PM. Then my parents are taking us to Teds where I will have a big old steak and low carb vegies!

Two cups of coffee with 1 Tbsp of Kerrygold butter (from grass fed cows) and a dash of cinnamon in each. I have been doing this for the past year or so. I used to have to eat breakfast first thing when I got up every morning. Now I'm good until early afternoon most days. Cutting down my food consumption to 2 meals a day has allowed me to lose weight and become fat-adapted, which comes in handy when I unexpectedly have to miss a meal. No more hangriness.

http://www.marksdailyapple.com/what-does-it-mean-to-be-fat-adapted/

Cutting out one third of your meals means you save money and/or can buy higher quality food.

I sliced up a banana, diced a Royal Gala apple, and put them in a bowl. Then, I sprinkled them with a tablespoonful of sunflower seeds and poured half a cup of unsweetened almond milk over the top.

Two pieces of toast with peanut butter and jelly. A glass of orange juice. I make my coffee at work, and when I'm feeling fancy, I add some hot-chocolate powder instead of sugar for a delicious makeshift moccachino.

Ran out of bread (because I didn't make any), so breakfast was cathead biscuits and grits with TVP "sausage" crumbles.

I'm like Buffet with his coca cola habit. Waffles with peanut butter and a london fog.

“I checked the actuarial tables, and the lowest death rate is among six-year-olds. So I decided to eat like a six-year-old. It’s the safest course I can take." - Warren Buffett

^my reason to eat waffles is not to mimic a child's eating habits. I just like waffles and the quote.

Nice stocking of the porridge oats force majeure.

I like how many people always eat the same things. I'm thinking... routine = savings, routine = efficiency, plus forums = neurotic people ;)

I ate the same as I do every day: 2 scrambled eggs, bacon bits (we make them ourselves ahead of time), fried up in ghee (was butter until recently, but I'm eliminating dairy), and topped with lots of Frank's hot sauce. With a cup of coffee.

24 cents for how many?  A dozen eggs at my local Aldi is usually about 89 cents.  Recently there was a sale for a dozen for 49 cents.

The same thing I eat every weekday morning.
A piece of rye toast - bought from the bakery outlet, and (probably a double serving of) Aldi peanut butter.

There use to be 4-5 bakery outlets near me.  Now I'm down to one and it's about a 20 minute drive, so I buy 2 loafs and freeze one (I live alone).
