Me and my wife ate Costco chicken ($5 for whole chicken, so obviously there's leftovers) , and Safeway coleslaw ($1.98, with mayo, rice vinegar, salt, pepper... Leftovers) and filtered water. I had Safeway French bread ($2 I think, an occasional indulgence that I must eat in two days because that's how long it stays fresh)

We repeated Friday's dinner today for lunch, minus the french bread, and added cheese and cherry tomatoes... It was delicious, coleslaw just gets better after sitting in the fridge for a day or two.  I was so grateful to my wife for putting this together, we just had our 5 year anniversary yesterday and this pleasant little mustachian lunch today felt like a validation of our life together.

Cooked a turkey today - dinner for the week.  Probably sandwiches for lunch too.  I tend to get tired of eating turkey by the end of the week but I bought it for $7 at Thanksgiving so it's a cheap week.  Even with the sides it's pretty frugal.  Hoping to eat out of my freezer/pantry for the rest of the month.

I roasted an eye of the round that we had with homemade oatmeal bread and carrots.  There's enough leftover beef that I think I'll make Stroganoff one night this week.  I also made a big batch of meatballs and froze them in meal sized portions.

We're buying no groceries for the month of February. Tonight we're having split pea soup with homemade flour tortillas!

Homemade pizza. I use the mountain bread from Costco for a quick (and super healthy!) thin crust. Its definitely more expensive than making your own crust but I love the way its tastes. I make my own pizza sauce and throw a couple jars in the freezer for the next couple pizza nights.

San Marzano tomato and fresh basil salad w/fresh grilled flatbread. Served with arugula, pecorino, balsamic vinegar, and capocollo.

Tomorrow is probably oven broiled turkey and swiss sandwiches with chips.

Mediterranean bowl: yellow jasmine rice, sautéed mushrooms in cumin, klamata olives, purple cabbage, feta cheese, carrots and a garlic-lemon-mint yogurt sauce.

We made General Tso's Tofu bowls!  Super good, easy to make, and pretty inexpensive!  We will definitely be making this again.

I think you have to put the "cheesy" in "quotes."  :-)

Pholourie and potato balls (bought at a local roti shop a while ago, then my plans changed so I threw them in the freezer for another time.)  Tamarind sauce for dipping.

Celery sticks and garlic hummous while I was waiting for the other goodies to thaw and heat in the oven.

I'm having fish taco with refried beans. I must admit I never expected to feel more than "meeh" about taco with fish, but I prefer it over meat taco.

http://natashaskitchen.com/2016/02/20/pork-schnitzel-recipe/

Pork schnitzel, with mashed potatoes and gravy on the side.  We've tried several recipes on her site, and they've all been amazing.  A great site if you want to try something new (we're going to give the Apple Sharlotka (Russian apple cake) and baklava a try next, while we still have all the ingredients in the house).

Chicken (from Grocery outlet, probably $0.75), rice, beans, and stir fry veggies (probably about $0.50 maximum).
A bit later I had a bowl of cereal (approximately $0.33).

The used food store (AKA Grocery Outlet) is my favorite grocery store!  I'm always in there scanning the cheese section.  Today's take home was a lemon for the dinner (50 cents), 5 lbs of Texas grapefruit ($4), and some cheese from Finland ($2.5).  Bonus, it's right next to the fabric store :D

I put a pork shoulder in the slow-cooker this morning before leaving for work. That will become some barbecue pulled pork. Have an old turnip that's gone a little soft that I'll be making into fries, and a big bag of beets that I'll turn into beet salad (gotta love Canadian winter when the only vegetables that aren't overpriced are root vegetables).
