Starting on Friday the 13th of February and counting until Friday the 13th of March, I went full badass into secret shopping and related work. I brought my wife along to most of these "jobs" and she likes it. She has told me that she has fun hanging out together and pretending to buy things or search the store for specific items. Being mustachian, it can be hard to pretend to be a consumerist sucka and fathom actually buying some of the items we have "shopped" for. We had to act genuinely interested in buying a new GMC Acadia or Yukon for around $45,000, or maybe that new 4k 70" inch TV that costs $2800! Anyways, on to the totals.
I used one company for secret shopping, and 3 others for small jobs around town. The total amount earned from these endeavors was $419.25! This is approximately 10% of what my regular job takehome pay is.

I didn't keep track of the hours, as any extra income is better then me at my house earning nothing, but if I had to guess it would come out to 40-45 hours for the month.
I can't have a regular part time job as my main job can randomly make me work extra hours/days at any time, also, I would have to get approval from them to work a part time job.

Not sure if you'd be interested, but you could would online for Leapforce or Lionbridge and get ~$15 per hour. You rank websites for the search engines. Sounds like it would work for your situation, but not everyone enjoys it.

This would be great for me as a divorced dad...I think I would enjoy trying secret shopping or doing some of this online work, but after alimony and child support adjustments (on my income only), I think I would only make $2 an hour. I make good money from my day job, but really just enough to get by after giving most of it away.
Unless anyone has better ideas, Cutting spending or trying out some of the bank account/credit card churning, is the only way to make any money that I can keep!.

Then actually mystery shopping might help in your situation due to the reimbursements, not the pay. In the last twelve months, I have been paid and reimbursed for several sub shop/fast food meals (my teen loves them), restaurant meals (ranging from pizza buffet to high end steakhouse), oil changes (also tire rotation and an emissions check), carpet cleaning, parcel shipping, car washes, gas, make up, jewelry, movie tickets, wine, clothing, as well as shopping at convenience stores, grocery stores and hardware stores.
