Valentine's Day
« on: February 15, 2015, 08:06:33 AM »
I'm so proud of myself.  Last night instead of going out on a date and spending money, I babysat for two families  (one gig) and made $80 bucks in 3.5 hours!

Nice!  Now, do you have plans on investing those dollars or paying down debt or is it for present day needs?

You know Kander & LadyStache in Baja, that is an awesome idea for a semi-regular side gig - in home babysitting for major holidays.   Valentines, New Years, Christmas Parties, County Fair, Bowl Games, etc.  Advertise it and make the money if you're good at that!

Yes, I'm hoping to make it a reg. thing.  I live in a tourist town, so there's a lot of vacationers that want a night out and don't know any sitters.  Time to put up some flyers!

You might want to approach local hotels for referrals, after providing references & a flyer listing your services & training. When DS was preschool age, we took him on a trip & found a sitter thru our hotel so we could have a dinner at a restaurant with adult friends. The sitter came to our hotel room.

My husband and I did spend a little money on Valentine's Day this year. We bought a young apple tree named Johnathan. He'll be keeping Granny Smith company in our California yard, and serving us breakfast in a few more years.

Heh I went out and drove for Lyft on Valentine's Day. Pulled ~$150 in ~5 hours.

If you live in a college town, you can make a fortune baby sitting during football games. When I was in school I got more for football games than New Years Eve.  Just the regular games, not a bowl or anything.
