Annual Review boost

Today is annual review day at the Mega Corp I work at and things went extremely well for me. This type of thing doesn't happen every year so I'll savor it while it's happening.

- 3% base salary corporate profit sharing bonus
- 3% base salary boost to retirement fund
- promotion
- 8% raise
- $10,000 discretionary bonus

Plus I filed my taxes today and we're getting a sizeable refund. This is both nice and extremely annoying because I try to set myself up for nothing owed or refunded but every year some weird tax scenario pans out. But at least I don't owe.

This will cover a major home project we're doing soon plus deposits into various investments. I may buy some new jeans finally as well. The ones I have now have been around many years and have reached their end.

Nicely done. Me, I just got a 3% increase so I am barely treading water. I am expecting it to maybe be my final raise before retirement in a few hears. They did a one time adjustment of a metric for some of us, and without it I would have received a 0.0% increase.

I will decrease my effort so I can make believe I got a real raise…just kidding. Been chipping away at things just like I have for my whole career.

8% is more than I ever got during annual review. Only way I have gotten more was through promotions. Congrats!
