I use this app to get rid of useless garbage around the house and turn it into cash, its a far better site than craigslist because once you post the ad sticks forever until it sells. Craigslist is a pain because people flag your ad off and you have to repost the ad every week or so.

Download it to your smart phone and start browsing for used items for sale that you are looking for. Or, simply post your item for sale. Include pictures and a negotiable price, and it'll sell.

I picked up a hardwood table with 5 chairs, and a folding futon couch (queen size mattress) for $70 combined (they are quality pieces too!), from a guy that lived 2.2 miles away.

I got a tip on this the other week and just added it a few days ago.  Kind of like Pinterest meets Craigslist.  Much more user-friendly / fun than Craigslist.  Plus, the buyer / seller ratings are a perk -- too man CL people are flakes.

I've posted a few things (some of which are still brand new) but no bites yet.  That's the most annoying part of trying to get rid of crap you don't use / need...even brand new...is you're SURE someone else out there could use it (I mean, people are buying bamboo flooring and wine coolers every day!) but you just can't seem to find them when you need them (I've had this 'crap' posted on CL for weeks now...adding in OfferUp hopefully reaches a second market).

I just looked into OfferUp and found a heck of a deal on a grill - just the one I've been eyeing! I conversed with the seller and then found out she had recently moved across the country and forgotten to update her OfferUp profile, so her listings still showed up in my area. Bummer! Someone in Virginia is going to get a great deal on a grill.

Overall, I do like it better than craigslist. It's easier/more fun to use, and it does seem like it filters out some of the flakier people you deal with on craigslist.

Haven't used it yet, but I am thinking of giving it a try. One bonus, when I checked it out I found one of those overstock sales places right nearby, because they advertised a few items at a really good price.
I backed off then - because the whole idea was to de-clutter my house - not bring in new.
