For the past week or so my Chromebook has been unable to charge because of the plugin jack hardware falling apart. I looked up warranty service and found out it expired a couple of months ago, and the nearest repair center is Texas. (as a side note I'm really questioning the value in these warranties that require shipping the product for service) A few days ago I took off the back cover to look and see what I could do to fix it. I dropped and lost the part that has the pin for connecting the charger. Today my wife found that piece and I was able to temporarily fix the problem! It's jimmy rigged a bit with some scotch tape, and it needs solder for a permanent fix but for now I have my computer back! :)
