Title: This is what an Emergency Fund is for
Post by: ichangedmyname on November 09, 2013, 09:58:31 PM
My husband is currently in the Philippines and that typhoon blew in and damaged the airport in the city where he's staying. He has to rebook his flight and with my emergency fund I can send him the money he needs.

Feels good that I can afford that without even batting an eye. I feel badass.

That is badass! Good for you.

I have seen the damage from the typhoon on the news. I hope your husband is safe.

Thanks. He is safe. The apartment he is renting was okay but the unit next door was trashed, glass doors and windows smashed by the wind. No electricity and water for at least a few weeks so my husband is being anti-mustachian and in a hotel. :(

Don't you have a travel insurance that can take the costs? Contact your insurance company. If he paid for the trip with a credit card there is also probably an insurance that can cover expenses such as these.
