The Viral Fox song and my low information diet.
« on: July 25, 2014, 05:09:33 PM »
My information diet has been so low over the past 1 1/2 years that when 'The Fox' came on my son's kids bop playlist today, I thought it was a truly great preschool song.

Lol I would be in the same boat if I wasn't addicted to football. The Denver Broncos head coach last name is fox.  So that's how I found out about the fox song. Did you know that right now weird Al holds the number one record spot lol! Found this out yesterday.

I learn about most current pop songs through the period mash-ups done with them by Postmodern Jukebox on YouTube.  Their 1920s version of Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" is absolutely wonderful. :-)

The low information diet is a really interesting concept!

I think I first read about it in the Four Hour Work Week, where it even states that reading a newspaper daily is a waste of our time (I quite enjoy it) but I understand his point that if something truly newsworthy happens, you'll in any case hear about it some time during the day from colleagues etc.

Just shows that the fox song is not worth your time.....

Ahhaha,

Yeah even my husband was like "I didn't bother to show you because it was so big I figured everyone knew about it.!" Just goes to show..

My low information diet happened during an epiphany I had when I was Consuming a lot of irrelevant information for entertainment purposes. I knew too much about things in my life I had nothing to do with and I wanted to know more about things I could do something with. So I just stopped everything, dropped my data plan, and started focusing on self improvement (a lot of time was suddenly freed up) I read MMMs post this year about LID and was pleasantly surprised that I wasn't the only one out there. Lots of reading on focus really helped drive home the point. Good stuff.

And I don't plan on the little guy coming across anything inappropriate so thanks for the heads up!! (Although I read they released a children's book off the back of it- genius. Considering my husband is a children's book author and im a songwriter they've given me some food for thought!)

I just spent like 20 minutes on their YouTube channel.  Reminds me of Richard Cheese's Lounge Against The Machine.

Also, the group that did WDTFoxSay has some great songs; Massachusetts is funny, and Stonehenge is amazing.

Watch the music vids though, don't just listen.
