Title: The Nightmare is Gone
Post by: EricL on July 10, 2014, 07:24:55 PM
It is with some regret that I have just bid adieu to Nightmare, my old '97 Pontiac I acquired under financially awkward circumstances too convoluted to recount here.  She goes gratis to a good home leaving me to continue life as a bad ass pedestrian/biker/bus passenger.  While I will miss her I will not miss the $1000 a year fuel costs, the maintenance hassles, insurance, or the growing spare tire around my mid section.

Congrats! Funny how light when we feel when we get rid of some pain in the ass item isn't is? A few years ago I got rid of some "work in progress" items that I kept telling myself I would complete. One day I decide the cost in psychic energy was too high even if they didn't cost much financially and I gave them away to some happy to have them.

I bet you won't miss your money and energy draining car as much as you think. :)

Nightmare was a pain but I got really used to her.  I will always feel a sentimental pang at giving her away but it really is for the best.  If the benefits weren't so pronounced I wouldn't have given her up.

After reading the title, I was hoping for a crazy girlfriend story.

For the average American, isn't the car basically like a girlfriend or boyfriend?  And aren't some of them crazy?
