Squeezing extra miles from my work shoes!
« on: June 15, 2015, 11:15:34 AM »
I wear canvas-topped rubber-soled slip-on shoes to do DIY and yard work.  Almost 2 years ago, I noticed that the soles were separating from the uppers.  I could have replaced the shoes for around $20.  But instead I spent $1 on a tube of crazy glue and used it to reattach the soles to the uppers.  That repair lasted almost 2 years.

I noticed today that the soles were starting to separate again.  So I repeated my crazy glue repair.  Hopefully, that makes those shoes good for another 2 years and keeps that $20 in my wallet.

:D

Good luck!

I have had good results with Shoe Goo to extend the life of my work shoes. I typically wear a hole where the ball of my foot hits the ground and I am able to build up the sole in that location with Shoe Goo. If the hole is large, I use a small piece of window screen material to reinforce the area.
