Sold my Mustang!
« on: April 14, 2015, 11:26:27 PM »
It's about time! I tried to sell it last summer only to have a deal fall through and then one of our cars blow a head gasket. I took it off the market because we needed a second vehicle.  Did the head gaskets job on the other car myself and got the mustang listed again about a week ago.  We still have two vehicles but  it's progress, right?  Now I get to go throw 7.9k in some index funds!

What year? I still have my 94 GT that I've had since I was 16 (28 now). It's driven 230 miles since 2008....I change the gas as much as I change the oil.

It was an 04 mach 1 in fair condition and needed some transmission work.  If I lived in a climate where I could drive it the entire year I may have kept it.

Fellow Mustang-stachers!!!!!!!  I have a 68 coupe that my dad and I rebuilt when I was in high school.  It sits in storage now in another state (pay $35/mo to store/not drive it plus $50/year for insurance).  But I intend to keep it forever for the memories and maybe someday I will be able to share a similar experience with my (unborn) kid.  Facepunch away :)

Ohh I love the 68's.  I plan to get another mustang down the road but for now I feel like that money needs to earn me some additional dollars.  Maybe a mustang will be my reward when I FIRE... Lol

My solution to this problem was to make my Mustang my daily driver.  We only have one car in the household, and its the Mustang.  This means I drive it all winter, but that's fine by me (and I don't drive much anyway).  My logic is, if I can only own one car, why not own the car I like most?

I sold my 2012 (unfinanced) Mustang when my mom's 2005 Corolla with 40K miles was up for sale. The extra money went to the mortgage.
