Setting up for next year!
« on: October 13, 2016, 10:34:16 PM »
I have about 4k left on student debts I plan to have paid off by new year's. Then I can focus on savings and paying down my mortgage. These are the way I am saving money.

1. Vaccinate my pets at home. I worked in the nursing field before this so I gave it a try. $30 to ship two feline kits and the rabies vaccine to my door. Got them both vaccinated for the year. Rabies vaccine isn't recognized here unless it's by a vet, but still legal to do at home. I wasn't worried about cats getting out and biting anyone so took the risk. I also donated my left over rabbits vile to a friend that helps take care of feral colonies. ( http://www.allivet.com/ )

2. Cut my my spectrum cable pack and now save $20 a month.

3. Bought ink cartridges on eBay and recycle them at Staples for $40 a month in store credit, boom. I get my cleaning supplies and diapers online!

4. Spent $33 on a safety razor and 100 blades. I have used three in six months. So should last me 16 ish years!

5. Downloaded mealime and it helps me make meal plans. Keep my meals to 40 to 50 weekly and let myself splurge on $10 of non essentials

My goal is to get debt free by new year's, then make a new budget for more intense savings.

Then I can focus on savings and paying down my mortgage.
At current mortgage rates, that's not usually the best plan.

I'm sure the OP is aware of this.
