Title: Score!
Post by: Hula Hoop on June 16, 2018, 01:07:54 PM
My fellow American expat is going back to the US and only taking three suitcases with her.  So she invited me over today to just take whatever I want from the rest of her possessions.  She said that whatever I and her other friends didn't take she would give to the local Rom (Gypsies) to sell.  I went with my 2 kids and got:

jeans
nice Indian pyjama pants
gym shorts
2 t shirts
winter coat
rain jacket
Magic Bullet blender with lots of attachments
MP3 player for the kids
Starbucks go cup for coffee
Nalgene bottle
Samsung Galaxy S3 smart phone that still works -could be good as a first cell phone for older daughter in a year or 2 when she starts walking to school alone
Merrell hiking shoes for older daughter who is about to go on a week long scout camp
dressy sandals for older daughter
ear thermometer
Several books
lots of baking pans and a small Le Creuset baking dish
serving dishes
olive/cherry pitter
tons of spices, chickpeas and stone milled flour

We're all thrilled with our new to us items and we spent $0 today (apart from the cake that I brought to my friend's house)  I love stuff like this.

Does anyone have any advice on the Magic Bullet?  We're not really smoothie drinkers but what else can we do with it?

That's amazing! Looooove getting free stuff from people who are moving.

As you've got chickpeas too I would recommend to use the magic bullet for some hummus making. Other non-smoothie things I use my blender for are fresh pesto and black bean brownies. I even used it to mix oats, banana and egg to make banana pancakes. But I do not own any other kitchen machine or even a mixer so that's why I'm dependent on my blender for almost all mixing.

We actually already have a large food processor and a stick blender.  So maybe the Magic Bullet is superfluous.

I use my blender for super smooth silky soups and tomato sauce.
