I absolutely love cooking and have been doing it ever since my mom would let me go near a stove. Out of the 21 meals my husband and I each eat in a week, I make 19-20 of them. When we do go out to eat, we are always astounded at the price considering how much money we have saved by my cooking. Before my husband met me, he used to do the reverse (eat out 19-20 meals a week, and only eat one). Since we've been together he has lost over 40 pounds and his blood work, like mine, is optimal.

For those who still aren't convinced, here are just a couple of reasons why I cook at home:

1. When you cook at home, you control the ingredients you place in your food. Thus, you can control salt, fat, oils and sugars that you are going to consume that day. You also control the portions that you cook. What does this lead to? Better overall health and bonus: weight loss.

2. When you cook at home, you don't have to pay the ridiculous marked-up prices of the food that chances are, you could have easily made at home. You also don't have to pay for a tip, or for that over priced bottle of wine you wanted to go with dinner.

Sounds like your husband is a lucky man!  We love cooking too & certainly enjoy the associated health, taste and financial benefits.

Just fyi, as a bit of etiquette, you may want to add your blog link to your signature line then refrain from inserting it into future posts. Generally accepted practice is to share the link only once in an actual thread.  Continuing to promote the blog after that will raise suspicions about the genuine nature of your contributions, and people get a bit annoyed if they perceive you are using the forum to promote your own blog.  A slight exception is in your journal - seems like you can kind of post whatever in that section since it's highly personalized.  I only mention this because 4 of your first 6 posts link to the blog, which is likely the reason nobody has responded to this thread.

Just a heads up.  I hope you will stick around and continue contributing to the forums!  And if you do, I'm sure you will make some friends who will end up visiting your blog as an added bonus.

Thanks for the heads up! I should have read the forum etiquette before hand.
