Before MMM, I probably would never have even opened this mail, but it was about lower electricity rates.
Since I just discovered the extent of my super un-mustachian electrical ways, and am rectifying them, I was intrigued.

Looks like due to some new laws in my state, one can choose to change their electricity supplier. I have ComEd, who will still maintain and bill me, but I can choose Constellation to be the supplier. They are offering to lock me in to a rate of 6.25 cents per kwh.

I looked up my charges over the last two years. For a few months in the summer, it is 6.7 c/kwh, and the rest of the year closer to 8. My last bill was 8.1. Plus they are offering a 25$ visa cash card for joining (and staying a few months)

and have a referral program.
My link is https://home.constellation.com/?by=0BKVC
and I do get another 25$ credit for successful new customers.

If you sign up, feel free to add your code in a reply so you can have a chance for referrals too.

Not sure if there is a rule against sharing these types of codes/referrals or not, or frowned upon, if so, I will remove that part. but the lower rates are good, too, if your state can do it. I think it said, IL, NJ, MD

but definitely research it for yourself and see if you would benefit.

You're lucky. My electricity is 13.865 cents per kWh.  And I live about 10 miles from a nuclear power station.  Go figure.

Does anybody here pay extra for wind/solar/etc? MMM does it, and I would like to, but I'm just not sure if it's worth it. Here (a stone's throw from the most productive coal region in the country), we get regular electricity for like $.06/kWh, and wind is like $.0775, so it's a substantial increase to our largest utility bill. Is that about what the premium is everywhere else?

I signed up for 100% wind electricity in TX. The price premium is about 10% over other electrical providers. I'm impressed with the low prices of some of you. My bills average out to $0.11-0.12 per kWh all-in.
