Saved $8900 on work clothes through thrifting!
« on: June 26, 2015, 09:00:46 AM »
Working at a bank I have to dress a certain way. Previously I purchased suits from a local factory in Montreal for about 2k a pop custom made. Then I found MMM. My girlfriend introduced me to thrifting recently and WOW!!!!! I bought the same suits (obviously not made for me but fit well enough) for 15$ a pop barely worn. 4 later plus alterations im looking at $110, this blew my mind!!!!!

I am now a total convert to thrifting, the idea of paying full retail has me gagging. All that cash set aside for new clothes after a 50lb weight loss is getting tossed right into my investment account! I gotta say guys, thanks for all the tips!

So you are now lean, fit, well-dressed and with a lot of extra money tucked away.  I congratulate your girlfriend on spotting that cool person under 50 extra lbs. and spendy habits.

Its incredible how this mindset takes over in everything! Every dollar spent now makes me go "Damnit in 20 years with compound returns thats a hunk of cash!"
