Saved $3200 in new appliances!
« on: October 27, 2015, 07:31:20 AM »
Refrigerator door no longer closes properly - $10 door cam kit and 20 minute install
Microvent table no longer turns - $29 motor and 15 minute install
Stovetop element no longer heats - $49 element and 15 minute install

Eternal admiration of my DH - priceless

OK so its a bit of a stretch to say I saved us that much, because in all likelihood, I would not have gone out and replaced any of these without a catastrophic failure....but still, it is exciting to know with a little courage and some you-tube videos, it really is possible to fix almost anything.

Good for you! And inspiring too. I've been trying harder to fix things instead of replacing them as well. Did that recently to a $30 hair dryer. Not a huge thing but I was proud.
