Hubs had ring central for an 800 number to his side business and they recently sent out notice that rates were going up to around $300 per year for his line. The number gets almost no use, as most contact is via emails, so we found a better (free option). Got a free Google voice phone number (not 800 but many people have free nationwide calling) and it rings forward to his personal cell. It has its own voicemail box with message and he was able to make the number a new contact and give it a distinct ring tone. With ring central it was supposed to use a different tone, but he never got that working properly, it was hard to know if he should answer professionally or with a "Hi." While this option won't work for bigger businesses, for many small operations, this might be a nice solution vs. using your personal number.
