By FAR our greatest financial achievement so far!
Tho I have to confess we got help from a cracker of a quarter that I got from my job... (Took $90k in one month! :-))

Still VERY happy and gained two years of FI since dec last year, 7-6 approx more to go

That s probably the only place on earth I can share it BTW...
It s a shame but... Have you wondered if you ever started to discuss your FIRE projects with your family/friends/colleagues?

Haha no you can't as it means that you will fall under the categories I cited above and I won't be able to share anything with you or this forum ever!

So... obvious question... What are you doing with the $196k?

Is it sitting in a bank account? Or are you investing it?

Right now, it's seating in the offset of the IP waiting to be allocated.

Planning to buy RE in Japan and invest in Share through IB: US vanguard and LICs.

Taking all the great advice I had from this forum (here and from you MrMarty998!) but also from other blogs and websites basically.

Offset account is never a bad idea. I am trying to fill mine up in preparation for inevitable interest rate rises.

Expecting to see a rate rise mid-next year as inflation starts to pickup. Too many people are spouting the lower for longer mantra. It reminds me of all those mining bosses who were out there proclaiming "stronger for longer" in the tail end of the boom 2 years ago.

Yes, good strategy.
I'm still weighting the usual conversation: Offset vs investing

Came up to the conclusion to do a bit of both at the same time to be sure that I remove debt and continue investing on the side hehe

Congrats on the great savings!

I've moved from full-time to part-time in the last 6 months at work, after I hit my 25x number.  I've been talking about my plans with some people at work for a while.  What I talk about with them varies a lot.  With some it's all about budgeting.  With most, it's just about what my plans are with all the free time; that gets most people very excited.  With some, I can't mention it at all.  They're very unenthusiastic about it, mostly it seems for monetary reasons (e.g. they can't afford it, or never want to stop spending), so I just don't talk to them about it.  Same goes for family, and same reasons :)

It's a very good debate,
I think it really depends on how you position things... and I haven't found it yet!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
