rode in my heels
« on: February 05, 2013, 06:57:13 AM »
I'm feeling badass this morning because I biked to work through the snow in my purple platforms with 5" heels.  The line between badass and stupid is not easy to discern.  But I feel I've put my mark on this dark February day.  Ha ha!

Obligatory internet statement: Pics or it didn't happen.

On another note, I had a friend that did the same thing quite often.  I always thought it was amazing that she could pull it off.

I used to do this all the time in college. Only ended badly when I combined it with a few glasses of sangria.

Subjecting yourself to 5 inches heels all day is already badass in my book. Go you.

Sorry, but no.  What the OP said about the line between badass and stupid?  5 inch heels (of any color) are way over on the stupid side of it.

Let me just say to the OP that I'll bet your 5 inch heels look great, which I'm guessing was the point. They may not be practical, but I'm certain they are appreciated!

I know this forum has argued over the utility of clothing before, I don't mean to wade back into that.

AS A MATTER OF FACT, so pleased was I this morning that I took a picture of these shoes -- and yes, that's snow on the heel.  Oh, I do so love to add to the fray.

I rode in my heels this morning too!  (not five inches though, and  no snow)

But are the people who appreciate them really the sort you want to be appreciated by?

I was hoping you'd post a picture. Great shoes and even greater badassity!

Awesome!
Being a guy, I've never tried it, but I always figured biking in heels would improve your form-- I know I have a habit of slipping into pushing with the arch of my foot, instead of the ball, sometimes. I can't see that being problem in heels.

Those shoes are rad!

Personally I think it's much easier to ride bikes in heels than to walk in them. ;)
