Replaced Timing Chain on Truck
« on: June 08, 2015, 07:26:56 PM »
I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota with 200,000 miles and noticed it was leaking coolant around the timing chain cover.  I did a little research and fixed it myself.  Since I had the timing chain cover off to replace the gasket, I went ahead and replaced the timing chain, water pump, and thermostat since they have never been replaced before.  I probably saved $800-$1000 in labor, and it wasn't that difficult.  No more leak and runs like a champ!
