Repaired my bathroom ventilation fan
« on: May 30, 2017, 10:27:04 AM »
I'm gradually improving my DIY skills and thought other people might suffer from the delusion that you might struggle to repair a ventilation fan yourself, which is what I thought until I got down to it. Our fan combines a light, a heater and a fan and I only needed to replace the fan part to fix it. They stocked my replacement part at Lowe's (be careful here as the first assistant I asked didn't know, so I was sure to ask the plumbing specialist).

It took a while to do, but I'd have needed to install a new one so that time spent would have been used up regardless. Getting gradually happier with doing this kind of stuff as I do more of it and saved at least $80 relative to buying a new fan, etc with the same specs as our old one. Some pics included, especially important is with the new fan installed and working (and grounded!).
