Using your oven efficiently
« on: April 25, 2012, 09:04:41 AM »
Figure I might share this simple idea I've been using for years when it comes to using your oven.

When I have the need to bake something in an oven, I like to make sure I don't use use it for a single item. I'll generally begin to bake cookies, a cake or brownies, maybe potatoes, along with making some bread crumbs if I have some dry bread all while baking my main meal (usually a roast or chicken).

Typically I'll set the temp of the oven to whatever baked goods I'm doing vs the main meal. Supper dishes really aren't sensitive to cook I've found.

Simple and tasty and you'll end up with desert in the end :)
