Purged!
« on: June 08, 2015, 05:37:51 PM »
I separated from my final albatross of embarrassment this weekend!  I sold my used Tacoma for $20k!  Now my only vehicles for transportation are a 2003 Honda crv (wife's) and a 2014 Honda CRF 250L (mine).  Yes, I will probably need a car in the near future, but planning to send less than $2000 on it.  The rest of that leftover cash is going towards our stash!  Hooray!

Congrats!  Good luck on the $2000 car hunt.  It can be a real crap-shoot at that price range, at least in areas with a lot of mechanically savvy low income people, such as I compete with in the south west.  My $1800 car has only lasted me 14 months and even with over $900 in repairs, it's almost totally done for.  It's nearly impossible to find a good car out here for under $3000, and really $4-5k is a safer target.  Still, even if you did a $5k car, that's still only 25% of what you sold the Taco for!

Congrats on the purging! Car buying is pure horror for me though. I absolutely hate it and DH used to be a mechanic.

If you live in a non snowy area, the CRF should be totally enough! What more than a dual sprort fun small bike! :D
Get a 1989-1994 corolla/cressida/civic for under $1k for those rainy days.

This reminds me of my shiny new Daytona and a 89 Civic I got for $875
