DTE Energy Bridge
« on: December 01, 2015, 09:14:16 AM »
So I downloaded the DTE Insight App on my phone and it gives easy access to the information that is already available on their website. Shows hourly rate usage of power and gas but the app just packages it in a much easier and convenient way to see. But, what was nice is that I asked to try the Energy Bridge option that will then give real time display of your current power usage from your smart meter on your home. This is the part that excites me.

I'm already aware of units that you can connect to the load side of your home's service box but never wanted to deal with it all. The energy bridge simply communicates to a modern electrical meter on your home and transmits that to the bridge connected to your router then basically to the app, real time.

Seeing the historical information it appears that my home is constantly drawing about 0.450kWh when we are not home or doing much of anything. Going to be fun to fish this stuff out in real time!

Anyone else have this setup yet?
