Title: Paid off our student loans by selling our old textbooks!
Post by: Goldy on August 29, 2018, 07:03:07 PM: Turns out there is still money in 10 year old undergrad textbooks. We sold 5 of 10 in 2 days for $350 and blasted the final two student loans. What’s even better is that I no longer need to keep moving those books around.

Post by: Silverado on September 07, 2018, 08:32:57 PM: Good job. I tossed a couple reference books into the recycle bin last night. I realized the odds were very long that I would go to them rather than the web should I have a question.

Last year I recycled a book of six place logarithms I bought at a library book sale in the eighties. Next on the list may be the CRC math tables book, but I did use it once last year.

What subject were the books?

Yes! Please share. I've got a "professional library" that my university required us to buy. Don't think I've open a book since graduation.

Post by: Goldy on September 23, 2018, 01:02:33 AM: I just put them up on amazon and matched or beat the lowest price to try and get these moving. I also timed the sale to occur in Mid August when school is about to go back into session. Some of the books were essentially worthless but i’m now up to $470 in sales and still have a couple left. This has given me a boost to start looking at other things we have around the house to declutter and make some cash.

These were all science books

Post by: LetItGrow on December 01, 2018, 04:58:49 AM: I am dropping off a second textbook at the post office this morning. I put them on ebay with a very low price. I think $70 total. Better than simply tossing them, and better than sitting on my shelf. These two were super clean and still the current edition. I have a couple more up, hoping to catch some spring semester kids looking.
